The "Sylvan Stream" was built in 1863 by Thomas Collyer of New York. She was built of wood and was copper-bottomed and of 379 gross tons. She was built for Harlem and New York Navigation Company. She operated in New York Harbor in 1883 and 1884. She was sold to the Genessee River and Ontario Steamship Company, Rochester, New York in 1885. In 1893, she was sold to Henry Folger, Cape Vincent, New York. At that time, she was rebuilt and renamed the "Empire State." She was burned at Kingston, Ontario June 5, 1903. |
